Asking the questions...

In view of the importance of the last game of the season at Gresty Road against Oldham in determining the future of the football club in the 2008/09 season, we have asked the club chairman, John Bowler, to reduce the prices for the game in an attempt to entice as many supporters as possible through the turnstiles.  It is crucial that the team is given all the support that we can muster for this game if we are to avoid our first return to theFourth Division since the 1993/94 season.

We have also asked John to consider freezing, or even reducing, the cost of season tickets for next season.  After the difficult season we have endured, the club needs to consider offering incentives to those who may be giving serious consideration to not renewing their season ticket for the 2008/09 campaign.  It is our strong view that another increase in season ticket prices in particular and in ticket prices generally would constitute a grave discouragement for those supporters who have not yet decided whether to commit themselves to another season.  We have serious concerns about the effects that an increase in prices could have on attendances generally and have no wish to see a return to the days of 1,500 attendances at Gresty Road.

At the time of writing, we have received no response from John but we remain hopeful that our pleas will not go unheard.
