Who will succeed Luke Varney as the Crewe ASi Player of the Season? Amazingly so far this season Steve Holland has used no fewer than 39 players. Some of course for only a matter of minutes as substitutes, Junior Brown, James Bailey, David Vaughan come to mind. Of the first team pool, only Ben Williams has remained injury free this year, so it truly has been a baptism of fire for our first team coach.
Ballot forms and boxes are available in the club shop and will also be available in the Alexandra Suite and Carlsberg Lounge before and after the Cheltenham game. There's no shortlist on the ballot form, simply "write-in" who you believe deserves this accolade. Unlike previous awards where the winner was easily predicted before a single vote was cast, this year there are numerous candidates, including the aforementioned Ben Williams.
Instead of completing the ballot form you can of course simply e-mail your choice to info@creweasi.org.uk or fill in our on-line form. None of the thirty-nine players used to date are excluded from the vote, but it would be preferable if one of our own were to win. Not that the loan players haven't or won't play a part! It's no small coincidence that our recent upturn in form has been commensurate with the signing of Kenny Lunt.
