Trust in the dream

As a group seeking to represent the supporters of Crewe Alexandra Football Club, we have listened tonight and remain unsatisfied with the explanations given on many of the points raised.  We are principally disappointed with the fact that there seems to be a lack of vision when vision is what has made the club to what it is today.

We therefore believe that a fresh vision needed and that the responsibility for this lies with the wider fan base of Crewe Alexandra.  We have been handed a legacy by the work of Dario Gradi and John Bowler and we cannot to allow it to be frittered away.

That is why we shall be moving forwards with our plans to establish a supporters’ trust for this club with the intention of representing, through a democratic organisation, the views of the fans and community of Crewe and we aim, along with over 80 other such organisations in the UK, to acquire a significant voice within the club through a shareholding and full position on the board.

We have already taken advice from Supporters Direct, the national body for supporters’ trusts, and we shall be discussing this with them further.  This is a wholly positive development, something we are genuinely excited about and an initiative that we believe can play a part in providing the continuity that this club has become known for, building on the achievements we have earned as a club so far.
