Fan's Views - Carlisle, League One,

Bailey

I thought we did OK and are not that far off.  The midfield duo lack pace thou and thats a problem. Although I thought James Bailey was super.   Joel Grant looks a threat and just needs to work on his end product, but he is young and was in non-league last season, so patience is needed with him.  I think we need to move Danny Woodards into the centre of defence with Baudet and look at the full back positions - Billy Jones was poor again.  We ended the game with Colin Daniel and Shaun Miller on the pitch. With them sort of players involved your not going to win football matches. Although when we get Zola, Elding and Donaldson fit and on the pitch we should far stronger. The only concern is two games, no wins, bottom of the table, home game next week before two away games, Walsall is now MUST WIN or the pressure will be on Steve and the boys.

It could have been 4-4! We looked good going forward but space behind the wingers meant we always struggled to defend. A stonestone wall pen in last minute. Pope played very well, Elding improving but gave ball away several times. Joel needs to have shooting lessons. He gets into great positions but as yet, he hasn't troubled the keeper.
8 out of 10 attacking
4 out of 10 defending
We need a Bob Scott type centre half and quick!

It looks like Steve Holland fancies himself as another Keegan - if we let in 4 goals we'll score 5!  Sorry, not working as another woeful defensive display sent us to the botom of the league.  Woodards is the only one with any credit from the start of the season, with Baudet being a real disapponmtment in most games.  Carlisle were just too good for our inept defending, and though we had a fair share of the game, once Joel Grant missed his one on one that was the game over.
