Although not quite as sunny as last year, a couple of early showers failed to dampen the enthusiasm of everyone involved in Wrenbury 2009, our annual football tournament and fun day. A record 24 teams took part this year, the fifth! Following a hard fought campaign, five group matches, quarters, and semis, Crewe Casuals prevailed in the final, retaining the title they won last year as "Chelsea!" In addition to the adults competition, a mini Champions league was held for the under 9’s, with skill, endeavour, and bags of enthusiasm shown by all teams, resulting in an overall victory for Nantwich Cheshire Blades.
